Ararat Family Camping
The success of the first Ararat Family Camping last year on the occasion of Ararat's 30th anniversary, prompted us to begin planning the camp early in the year. After forming a camp committee, the camp location was finalized and the promotion and planning started. It did not take long to reach the camp attendance capacity because the word was already out ever since last year.Close to 40 families (about 135 parents and their children ) attended the second annual Ararat Family Camping at the Camp Verdugo Oaks on Friday July 10 thru Sunday, July 12th. The camp started by the arrival of the campers and setting of the tents at their pre-designated areas on Friday afternoon. It was great to see families returning for a second time around after participating in the camp last year.
From day one, many campers volunteered for various tasks. For example, all breakfast, lunches and dinners were served by campers. Archery, BB gun shooting, nature center, soccer, volleyball and pool time were popular activities among the younger campers which were supervised by volunteers. Some woke up early in the morning and took early hour nature walks on the camp trails.
Saturday night campfire provided the opportunity for all to gather around the fire and enjoy group singing, dancing and discovering a few hidden talents.
Thanks to Melineh Ebrahimian and her committee members; Arik Gevorkian,Armineh Abrahamian and Kookoo Sukiassian, The second Ararat Family Camping was a great success. We hope to see your family at the family camping next year.
