Baruyr Sevank & Komitas Event

On June 14th, 2009, the Ararat Cultural Division presented the 85th birthday of Baruyr Sevak and the 140th birthday of Komitas Vartabed at Ararat’s Baghdasarian-Shahinian hall.



The program opened with a few words from Monik Grigorian, followed by singing from the Ararat choir. The choir, led by Alenoush Yeghnazarian, presented a wonderful and impressive rendition of songs by Komitas. Komitas's music continued on with the talents of Vatche Mankerian on the piano and the "HI-AM" string quartet.

The evening concluded with Lilit Keheian and Razmik Shahgeldian who presented the work of Baruyr Sevak.

The audience greatly enjoyed this evening of Culture and Art; having a glass of wine while hearing the sounds of Komitas and listening to the words of Baruyr Sevak.
