Ararat Center, which is located adjacent to southern portion of City of Glendale, currently serves more than 500 youngsters each day.
The safety and security of the young and old members using the Center's facilities is a high priority, After an initial assessment of Center's safety and security systems in 2004, it was concluded that new safety features were needed to upgrade the Center. After extensive studies by our professional project team members, it was decided to:

  1. Renovate the existing entryway to create a reception area on the first floor. Install a turnstile controlled by an I.D. card swipe system.
  2. Issue I.D. cards to all members and staff.
  3. Install a fence in the rear of the building to prevent unauthorized entry through back doors and to create a barrier between the parking lot and the building.
  4. Install revolving doors in the back fence for exit only.
  5. Install a railing along the side of the building to create a barrier between pedestrians and automobiles in the driveway leading to the parking lot.
  6. Install additional surveillance cameras.

This renovation will also include upgrading the cafe and the uniform/ souvenir shop. The cafe will be designed to have a more pleasant and modern atmosphere for children, parents and visitors. Parents and members can watch their children in action through several monitors installed in the café or can catch a sporting event on a flat screen high definition T.V. screen while visiting with friends.

This project was partially funded by City of Glendale's CDBG program, contributions by several friends of Ararat Chapter and countless hours of volunteer work by dedicated members and supporters.

We still need contributions to cover our expenses. Names of all contributors will be memorialized on a plaque at the entrance lobby. To get more information about sponsorship opportunities and the project, contact our Executive Director, Armond Gorgorian weekdays after 2:00 p.m. at 323-256-2564
