Yeretz/Barmanuhi

What is Yerets/Venturing?

“Yerets” or Venturing troop (as referred to in BSA) is essentially a youth development program designed for scouts over 16 years of age to prepare to become responsible and caring adults. Based on a unique and dynamic relationship between the youth, its adult advisors, and the organizations in their communities, the “Yerets” program helps its members pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and ultimately become better scouts. Members in the “Yerets” troop work as a team in order to reach their many goals. As a member of Yerets, he comes to learn important skills like team building, public speaking, cultural/scout history, as well as scout troop management and schedule preparation. In addition, he learns to organize his time to accomplish tasks for school, scouts, and extracurricular activities.
