Homenetmen Glendale "Ararat" Chapter has hired Armenia\'s Art Intitute\'s honorary member Ms. Anoush Markarian as our dance instructor [View Details]

Anoush

Anoush Mihranian was born in Tehran, Iran. During her childhood she loved Armenian folk dance and music. She began dancing when she was 9 years old. At the age of 13 she joined “Anna Djanbazian Dance Academy” and successfully graduated from the same school and received a Certificate in Armenian Folk Dance.

In 1993, she established her personal dance school, “Anoush Dance Studio” in Iran with more than 120 students. Her goal was to introduce and teach Armenian Folk dance to the Armenian youth. She then expanded her dance school and continued her dancing profession with the Armenian Cultural Ararat Organization as a dance instructor for 12 years in Tehran, Iran.

In 1997, she visited Armenia and participated in the National Dance Academy in Yerevan, as an honorary guest, to further her education in classic and folk dance. During her stay in Yerevan, she achieved awards from the President of Karabagh and Vanoush Khanamiryan, who was the head of the National Dance Academy in Yerevan at that time.

In 2005, she moved to the United States with her family and settled in Los Angeles, CA. She has been teaching at Homenetmen Glendale “Ararat” Chapter since January of 2006.
