Dear Freinds,
On July 23, 2006, Homenetmen Glendale "Ararrat" Chapter's "Ararat2 Ararat" committee organized a eunion for the former members of Armenian Cultural Ararat Organization, who participated in organization's activities after 1980 and had moved to Southern California in the last couple of decades.
Martin Lazarian, the chairman for the Reunion Organizing Committee welcomed and thanked the articipants of almost 120 people for attending the reunion. In his opening remarks he expressed his hopes that similar events would be of interest to all Araratakans in the future.
Serjik Grakasian, the Chairman of Ararat2Ararat committee also thanked the participants and introduced oth the committee as well as the event's organizing committee members.
He expressed his gratitude to Martin Lazarian the leader of the organizing group and other members Arno Mehrabian, Vahe Keshishian, Rita Haroonian, Rima Haroonian and Andrew Khatchatourian, for putting the event together.
Serjik Grakasian also briefly explained the committee's goals and objectives and asked everyone to be in touch with the committee via our website. He also thanked Caro Mardirossian for his time and effort for the beautiful video/photo presentation made for the reunion.
Armik Ebrahimian, in his turn, informed the audience about Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter's history, activities and the opportunities that exist for each and everyone and their family members to participate.
Martin Lazarian and Jano Gharibian told few stories from their past memories at ACAO, after which Patrick Eskandarian and Serjik Grakasian presented the Ararat2Ararat website to the audience.
The program ended with the video/photo presentation which included pictures submitted by some members and the videos that were sent to the committee from ACAO.
The participants enjoyed the cocktail preparation and picture display of the old memories and stayed a while after the program, talking about the good old memories, friendship and their collective accomplishments and the pride of being an Araratakan.
