On Sunday September 17 2006, “Ararat” Center’s foyer was filled with more than 140 music lovers who were there to enjoy a recital by violinist Dr. Vahan Ananian and pianist Mr. George Donald. Although Dr. Ananian and Mr. Donald live far from each other (Mr. Donald resides in Scotland), but they have performed together all over the world.
The recital featured a number of pieces from Armenian and International composers. Especially lovely was the Komitas/Aslamazian Tzirani Tzar that they performed with passion and originality. The piece was arranged for violin and piano by Dr. Ananian.
At the conclusion of the recital, during the reception, music lovers and friends had an opportunity to extend their appreciation to the duo, engage into conversations and take pictures with them. The reception was organized by the cultural Executive Committee and members of “Ararat” Choir.
Dr. Ananian and Mr. Donald were immensely impressed by the response they received from the audience and were eager to make this an annual event.
